Overview
|
The owner involved rehabilitation program is designed for owners who are experiencing severe behavior issues and require a higher level of attention and help. While the Standard Board and Training Program provides for most situations this option is for owners who need to be more directly involved in the process based on the dog gaining a higher level control in the relationship. This 2 week program offers the level of attention needed to get both dog and owner on the right path. Some of the behavior issues the owner may be dealing with which this program provides help for include:
Aggression - Towards other people, dogs and situations.
Fear - Issues associated with fear / aggression
Anxiety and Stress
Other more Problematic Behavior issues
Owner Involved: Once a dog has gained a higher level of control in the relationship with the owner their reactions to others interacting with them can be very intense causing a higher level of challenge and stress on the dog. The goal of this program is to take advantage of the level of control the dog has within the relationship and with the owner. This dynamic offers a more agreeable transition for switching the roles. During this program is owner is strongly encouraged to attend the training sessions daily onsite for the 2 weeks.
Standard Board and Training vs Rehabilitation Program - Assessing which program would be suitable for the dog is based on initial information if known or the first couple of days of the Standard Board and Training Program. If the dog is assessed to be in need of more intensive help via the Rehab Program and has already started the Standard Board and Training Program the owner will have the option to transition to the Rehab problem or pay the owed amount for the time already completed via the Standard Program. At this point the owner can decide to move forward with the Rehab Program, switch to Home Visit Sessions or stop the training process altogether. Once the dog has gained a higher level of control via the owner the focus must shift even more onto working more directly with the owner to not only avoid high challenge and stressful interactions but to make sure the root cause of the problem is fixed.
